Introduction

When a pot of water is put on fire, the surface of the water looks calm and still. After a while one can witness bubbles and vapor appearing on the surface accompanied by heat. What makes this calm water become active and hot is what is known as energy. This energy is in the form of heat and is transferred to the water in the pot from the fire.
