INTRODUCTION
Cows, goats, sheep and other ruminants feed mainly on grass which is a plant. Humans eat maize, rice, tomatoes, onions, plantain etc., and all these are plants.
They also eat meat from cows, goats, fowls etc. We can see over here that, animals rely mainly on plants as their primary source of food. This method of feeding or obtaining food from other living organisms is called heterotrophic feeding.
Animals obtain food from plants through eating it directly or indirectly by feeding on other animals who also feed on plants.
