Is Artificial Intelligence Good or Bad?

Most movies depict Artificial Intelligence as bad or evil, with robots dominating humans and taking over earth after completely wiping us out. Movies like Terminator, Avengers: Age of Ultron show a side of Ai that can terribly go wrong. This generally puts fear into humans who would not really want the advancement in AI research, they like how things are presently.

On the plus side the AI we have now is very useful and helpful, in that it makes work easier. Imagine not having to stress about driving yourself in heavy traffic, or remembering to turn off the lights or even cooking your own food?
