Rights and Responsibilities

A right is a benefit which a person is allowed by law to enjoy because he/she is a member of a group. As we enjoy our rights, certain duties must be met. For example; performing house chores, respecting parents and elders, etc.

The duties we perform because of the rights we enjoy as members of families, schools, communities and countries are referred to as responsibilities.

As citizens, the state gives you the following rights

  1. Right to good health: Access to good hospitals and affordable health care.

  2. Right to education: Access to good quality education and teachers to help us develop our human resource.

  3. Right to safety: Being protected by the police to be safe, this helps us to work towards the future.
