Responsibilities of Citizens towards Nation Building

Every citizen has a duty to perform for the well being of the nation. Such duties are known as responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities of citizens that promote nation building are:

i. Citizens are expected to pay their taxes always to the state. These taxes are used for developmental projects and provision of social amenities.

ii. Citizens are to vote during elections to choose leaders to rule the country.

iii. Citizens are to participate in communal labour such as the national sanitation day which is the first Saturday of every month.

iv. Citizens are expected to perform national service.

v. They should also participate and contribute to decision making in the nation

vi. It is the duty of every citizen to protect any property that belongs to the nation.
