Negative Statements

Words like ‘no’, ‘not’, ‘never’, and ‘no one’ are usually called negatives or negative words. Contractions that end in n’t like ‘doesn’t’, ‘wasn’t’ and ‘didn’t’ are also negative words.

Sentences that do not have any of these words are called positive sentences. Sentences that have a negative word or phrase are called negative sentences.

A positive sentence can be changed into a negative sentence by adding a negative word.
