Solar System
Research and space exploration programs have also made it possible for mankind to appreciate the solar system made of the nine planets and the sun being at the center of it, including Earth.
Astronomers and philosophers have speculated for millennia about whether other stars harbor worlds like Earth and whether these worlds are inhabited.
The energy from the sun is what supports life largely on the earth.
The nine planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the dwarf planet known as Pluto. Some of the planets have moons like earth with one moon and Jupiter with its sixty seven known moons.
Sophisticated machines also have shown mankind that there are numerous stars in outer space which are far bigger than the earth. The sun which is also a star is about 109 times bigger than the earth and is about 500 million Kelvin hot in temperature.
