Kinetic Energy

It is the energy that an object has due to its position in a force field. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest. Every moving body possesses kinetic energy. For eg, a moving bicycle possesses kinetic energy.

K.E=1/2mv2= 1/2 x m x v2……………… (1)

Where m= the mass of the body

V= the velocity of the body

From equation (1), the following formulae can be written

V2=2 x K.E/m………………………. (2)

M=2 x K.E/V2……………………… (3)
