Note: For some nouns, although they are written in the plural form they are treated as singular nouns in sentences.

Example:

News can be singular or plural but in sentences, it is treated as a singular noun.

We heard the news about Gyamfua’s scholarship yesterday.

Also, certain nouns are only used in the plural. Some examples are given below

Scissors, Jeans, Trousers,Stairs, Shorts

These nouns are usually treated as plural in sentences.

Example:

For this activity, we will need a pair of scissors, glue, and some paper.

I bought shorts at the mall today.
