Adding 2 – Digit Numbers

In adding up two digit numbers, where the sum of the ones is more than 9, we carry the one ten up to the tens column to sum it all up.

Example; 79 + 18

First add the ones we carry the 1 ten up. Then add the tens.

Therefore 79 + 18 = 97
