Sharing Habitats

We know animals live in different habitats because of their needs, but did you know some animals share the same type of habitat?

Habitats come in different sizes, there very small ones that contains only one species of animal or very large ones with several different species.

A large habitat will see animals occupying different sections in that environment, each section may be a little different to the next one and defines the role of the animal at that location. These sections in a habitat are called niches

Animals living in the same habitat sometimes compete with each other for certain resources like food and water and sometimes shelter. This is usually solved by each animal carving out its own niche where pressure on resources is not that high.
