Causes of HIV/AIDS

• Unprotected sex with infected persons

• Sharing sharp objects like blade and needles with infected person. When the sharp object cuts the infected person and also cuts the uninfected person, the virus can be transmitted.

• Blood transfusion using the blood of infected person

• Tattooing and piercing could also pose a risk of contracting the disease since some of the people receiving them may be infected.

• Infected pregnant women can also pass the virus to the unborn babies.

• Mothers can transmit the virus to their children during breastfeeding.
