A fruit is a well developed ovary. There are two types of fruits. We have dry fruits and fleshy fruits. Dry fruits have dry pericarp whiles fleshy fruits have juicy pericarp. An example of a dry fruit is okro and example of a fleshy fruit is tomato.
A seed is a fertilized ovule that develops into a new young plant. There are several kinds of fruits and seeds with different shapes, sizes and colours. Fruits and seeds are spread into new locations through a process called dispersal. Agents of seed and fruit dispersal are the ways or medium by which seeds and fruits are dispersed. Examples of these agents are wind, water, animals and explosive mechanisms. The embryo in a seed develops into a seedling through a process called germination.
