Formation of the Earth and other Planets

The leftover gases from the sun’s formation had their own angular momentum. They were flattened out into large disk shapes by the gravity of the sun. These disks also underwent a reaction resulting in the formation of Planetesimals and Planetoids. All this occurred over 4 billion years ago.

The planetesimals would later form the planets through several collisions which evolved into bigger masses. The planets eventually settled out nicely in orbit around the sun, the earth finding its place in the third orbit of the sun. The position of earth around the Sun would later become the determining factor for the existence and continuation of life.
