Air Pollution

Air is essential to all living things. Without air, living things cannot survive. Animals obtain oxygen from air and plants obtain carbon dioxide.

These two gases help them to be able to perform their activities. Oxygen in animals, help them in their respiratory system and mechanism.

Plants also need carbon dioxide to prepare their own food. We should always keep the air clean is order for us not to breathe in contaminated air. When waste substances are released into the air, it is known as air pollution.

The harmful substances that cause air pollution are known as pollutants. Examples of air pollution are;

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO)


  • Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)


  • Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2)
