Why Natural Resources have not been Significantly Exploited and Utilized in Ghana

Ghana is endowed with a lot of natural resources that are essential for its development. Unfortunately, the country can not exploit these natural resources. Some reasons associated to our inefficiency to exploit these natural resources are:

i. Low level of training

Efficient exploitation of natural resources need some training. Majority of Ghanaians do not undergo such training. Most of the people who work at such places do not have adequate training and are sometimes ignorant about some of the works they do.

ii. Lack of finance

Exploitation of some natural resources need machines to help in the work. Some of the people who do such work do not have money to purchase such machines. The workers who can not afford these machines use different methods that prevents them from exploiting the natural resources well.

iii. Lack of machines

We said early on that, lack of finance prevents us from purchasing machines for exploiting our natural resources efficiently.

iv. Lack of skilled personnels

Ghana do not have enough skilled personnels with the technical knowledge and skills such as better technicians and engineers to exploit our natural resources efficiently.

v. Lack of mangerial skills

Ghanaians do not make good use of their resources and mostly misuse them. They do not have any skills to manage them for future use.
