Types of Teeth and Their Functions
There are four (4) types of teeth in humans namely;

Incisors | These are generally chisel shaped, they are eight teeth in the front and center of the mouth (four in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw). They are used for cutting |
Canines | These are the sharpest teeth, they are four teeth (two in the upper and two in the lower jaw). They are used for tearing flesh or food and sometimes for cutting. |
Pre-molars | These have two raised parts on the crown, they are two cusps and are four in the upper and four in the lower of the jaw. They are used for chewing and grinding of food. |
Molars: | They have flat surfaces with cusps and are six in the upper and six in the lower jaw. They are used for chewing and grinding food. |
