Problems Facing District Assemblies
i. District assemblies are unable to generate enough money for development, as government subventions are woefully inadequate.
ii. Inadequate trained staff is also one major problem facing district assemblies. This is because most professionals and technocrats refuse to work in some districts as a result of poor working conditions, low remuneration and accommodation difficulties.
iii. Incidence of partisan politics in some districts affect development greatly. Where there are quarrels and misunderstandings between the Chief Executive and Member of Parliament, the assembly suffers the direct effects.
iv. Most assemblies are also not able to develop clear plans for the development of the districts.
