Adding one or more letters

Some irregular nouns form their plural by adding ‘en’ or ‘ren’ to the end. Below are some examples.

Ox -------------------------------------> Oxen

(Plural form Ox + en)

Child ---------------------------------> Children

   (Plural form Child + ren)

Man ---------------------------------> Men (Plural form Man + en)

Woman----------------> Women (Plural form Woman + en)

Example:

The man played football with us all afternoon becomes

The men played football with us all afternoon
