Harnessing Solar Power

With all the energy we receive from the sun, humans started thinking of ways to properly exploit this energy. Several methods and technologies were developed to collect and maximize use of solar energy, here is one of them;

Electricity:

The most common exploitation of solar energy is the ability to convert it into electricity. Photovoltaic systems or cells were developed to produce electricity directly from sunlight. You will see these cells or panels on rooftops, open fields etc. There are also much smaller ones that are used to charge smaller devices like lamps, phones etc.

When sunlight hits solar panels or cells it causes electrons to flow through the cells which generate the electricity we use.
