Types of Water Pollution

Chemical Pollution:

Big manufacturing industries and companies work with a lot of chemicals. Some may not have proper ways to deal with the disposal of chemical waste so they end up leaking them into water bodies nearby. Farmers are also responsible for this as well, the chemicals from the fertilizer they use may sometimes wash off into nearby water bodies.

Oil spillage:

Spillage from ships transporting barrels of oil can cause the oil to suspend in the ocean. Fish can get stuck in it leaving them to die. The BP oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico is a good example which got worldwide media coverage.

Water bodies contain a lot of micro-organisms like bacteria and viruses which are harmful to fish that dwell there. These water bodies are also not pure enough to drink from.
