Why were Drones Built?

Drones have many uses, which we will talk about in a later chapter. But why exactly were drones built?

Drones were built to perform tasks that were too "dangerous, dirty and dull" for human beings to perform. These are the same reasons why Robots were built and Drones are basically flying robots.
