Where

We use the word where when we need to ask about an object or person’s place or location.

Example:

Question: Where is the purse?

Answer: The purse is on the coffee table.

In this case, we need to know the location of the purse. The word "where" helps us to find out.

The answer "the purse is on the coffee table" tells us exactly where to find the purse.
