Present Continuous

This verb tense is used to show that something is in the process of happening or will happen in the near future. It is formed by adding

  • the present tense of the verb be (am, is, are) before the main verb and

  • ‘ing’ to the end of the main verb.


Example;

Example: They are waiting at the airport.


Just like the simple present, present continuous statements can also be negative. Let us look at a few examples.
