Importance of Natural Resources for Ghana Development

Natural resources help develop the country, they attract foreigners and some people go there to have fun and others go to learn.

These are:

1. Education
   Some people visit these places to learn. These places attract people all over the world. Educative trips are organised for students to visit such places to aid their learning.

2. Raw materials
   They serve as raw materials for factories and other individuals. For example, crops such as cocoa are raw materials which are processed into chocolate etc. Gold , diamonds etc., are also raw materials used for making jewelry etc.

3. Employment
   Exploitation of natural resources such as gold, diamond etc serve as employment. Increased natural resources, increases production and increased production also increases employment. Natural resources have influence on employment.

4. Infrastructural revenue
   Countries such as Ghana depend on its natural resources. The various communities in Ghana have different natural resources they depend on in order to develop their communities.
   For example, the people of Ada depend on salt mining, the people of Obuasi also depend on gold etc.

5. Internal revenue
   Mining of natural resources such as gold, diamond, salt etc., bring money when they are exported or processed into finished products and are sold. The people who do these businesses also pay taxes and levies to the government. These are used to develop the country.
