Effects on Urban Centres

i. Rural migrants increase the number of job seekers already in the urban centers and hence create unemployment

ii. Rural – urban migration leads to high cost of living in the cities in the areas of food, housing, medical care etc.

iii. The influx of rural dwellers also creates slums, congestion and traffic jam in urban areas.

iv. There is also increase in social vices in the urban centers as a result of the high unemployment rate.
