The Judiciary
This is the arm of government which helps interpret the constitution and ensures that people obey the laws of the country. Judges and lawyers in the various courts make up the judiciary. The supreme court of Ghana is the highest judiciary level of Ghana. It is followed by the court of appeals, then the High court, then the Regional tribunal, then the District courts and Magistrate courts. The head of the judiciary is the Chief Justice.
Duties
The principle function of the judiciary is to give justice to the people
It is very important to also explain /interpret the laws and apply them
Equity legislation: Depending upon sense of our inconsistent, the judge or judiciary helps to decide cases very well with the above values but still from the law-making process
Protection of rights is ensured by the judiciary. Guarding the constitution is the responsibility of every citizen but the judiciary takes maximum responsibility.
Advisory functions: They Take decisions which require legal advice to ensure efficiency.
