Funeral ceremony
Most of our ethnic groups respect the dead. Due to this, the dead person is given his/her last respect and love during the celebration of the ceremony.
The body of the dead is dressed nicely and laid in public for family and loved ones to show their last respects and bid the dead farewell to the ancestors. The body is later on taken to the cemetery to be buried.
The family and loved ones return to continue the funeral ceremony. The head of the family sits down with the members and sympathizers express their condolences to them. Songs are sung and music played during the celebration.
Loved ones and sympathizers donate money to the family of the dead as a way of expressing their condolences. At the end of the ceremony, the family show appreciation to loved ones and people who sympathized with them.
