Summary

The scientific study of inter-relationships between living things and their environment is termed ecology. All organisms live in a place they can interbreed successfully in and this is called habitat. There are certain adaptations organisms must have in order to survive in an environment.

All green plants are producers. Consumers are animals that depend on plants directly or indirectly for food.

There are three main types of consumers. They are; primary consumers, secondary consumers and tertiary consumers.

Food chain follows the same pattern. Food web is composed of a number of interconnected food chains by which energy circulates with an ecosystem.
