Importance of Fuse

i. It protects appliances against damages

ii. It also protect humans using appliances against electrical shock

iii. It prevents fire outbreaks due to overheating from excess current.

Every fuse has a maximum amount of current that is allowed to pass through it without breaking.

It is usually written as a number on the fuse. E.g. 13A fuse shows its maximum current which is 13A.
