Reasons Certain Appliances Have Two Pin Plugs

Although the earth wire is very important, they are absent in two pin plugs. Due to this, such two pin plug appliances have an insulating plastic case.

The plastic case act as an earth wire. In electrical appliances or circuit earth wires are connected from metal casing to the ground.

If the live wire touches the metal casing of an appliance due to a fault, electric current flows from the metal casing along the earth wire to the ground.

This prevents a person touching the metal casing from getting an electrical shock.
