Dry Cell
Dry cell consists of two main parts. They are: Carbon rod and a zinc plate that serves as electrodes.
An electrode is a piece of metal by which electric current leaves or enters an electrolyte.
An electrolyte is a compound which in solution form, conducts an electric current and can be broken down by the current passing through it.
There is a jelly-like substance in the dry cell which contains the electrolyte. These are made up of ammonium chloride.
The jelly is an electrolyte which conducts electric charges in the cell. Series of dry cells put together is known as battery.
