How Electricity is Wasted in our Homes and Industries

i. At home, electricity is wasted by leaving appliances ON while they are not in use. Example is leaving lights ON when not in the room. Leaving television and radios ON or plugged into when we are not in the house.

ii. In the industries, certain machines are left running overnight even when not in use.

iii. Certain industries use faulty or old machines that consume large amounts of electricity.

iv. In the homes, air conditioned rooms, freezers and doors of refrigerators are left open and this causes these appliances to draw more electricity in order to keep substances and rooms cool. This brings about wastage.
