The seven member committee headed by the commission’s chairman, two deputies and four members through appointment by the president
FUNCTIONS
Educating and motivating citizens to defend the constitution
Progress from national, regional and district levels are drawn and sent to government for scrutiny
Some levels of accountability is assessed by the commission from government
The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of Ghana Police service was established on 26th October, 1988. Cases involving women and children were of immense concern. On 17th march 2015, DOVVSU recorded 667 cases of sexual gender violence; the functions are;
• To investigate victims who suffer from domestic violence
• Child abuse cases and juvenile cases are investigated by the commission
• They also prosecute cases where necessary
