The descendants of Na-Gbewa by Sitobu moved southwards conquered the people due to the organised nature of the Dagombas, the use of good weapons and horses.

The Dagomba moved from the capital Dagomba to Yendi. The spiritual home of Dagomba is Gambaga. By 1746 the Asantes defeated the Dagombas and were forced to pay tributes
