Blood Platelets

This is also known as thrombocytes. They help in blood clotting during injuries.

When an injury occurs and the skin is cut, platelets are attracted due to the exposure to air.

Soluble protein in the plasma form a long sticky thread called FIBRIN. The fibrin forms a mesh of fibres at the cut which traps the blood cells and this causes the formation of a blood clot.
