Plankton

Plankton are carried and moved by water current. Their movement is largely dependent on the water movement. The Word 'plankton' comes from the Greek word 'planktos', which means 'that which is passively drifting or wandering'. They can either be plant-like or animal-like.

Plant-like plankton are known as Phytoplankton and the animal-like ones are known as Zooplankton
