Lever
A lever is a simple machine that consists of a rigid bar, which turns freely about a fixed point called pivot or fulcrum. It is used to lift or move a heavy object.
A lever has three main parts:
i. Effort
ii. Pivot or fulcrum
iii. Load
Effort is the force applied at one end of a lever to overcome a load.
Pivot or fulcrum is the fixed point that rotates a lever.
Load is a weight which is lifted or it is the force overcome by the effort at one end of the lever.
