Alexander Graham Bell (1847- 1922)

Alexander Bell is widely known for his most famous invention; the Telephone

.

He was interested in sound as a science and performed several experiments which helped him send voice signals down a telegraph wire.

His interest in sound was due to both his mother and wife being deaf. Apart from inventing the telephone he also invented the metal detector and audiometer.
