The Wright Brothers
The Wright Brothers consisted of Orville (Born 1867) and Wilbur (Born 1871) Wright.
They are known for making the first successful human flight and creating the first model of an airplane, after several years of using gliders.
They closely studied how birds were able to fly and modeled airplane wings from bird wings. The creation of airplanes helped improve transportation methods which were previously dominated by sea, animal carriages, foot and train just to mention a few. This helped movement from one place to another in a shorter time.
The first flight which lasted for 12 seconds and 120 feet was performed by Orville Wright on December 14th 1903.
