Volcanic Mountains
As the saying suggests, volcanic mountains are formed by volcanoes. They are formed when magma deep within the earth, erupts, and piles upon the earth's surface. Magma is called Lava when it breaks through the earth’s crust. When ash and lava cools, it becomes rock and piles up layer by layer.
Examples are Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, Mount Cameroon, Mount Kea and Loa in Hawaii.
